NEW YORK STATE OFFICE ADVOCATE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES:
The NYS Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities (OAPwD) is a systems advocacy agency for people with disabilities whose primary mission is to ensure that people with disabilities have every opportunity to be productive and participating citizens.
VESID: Provides vocational rehabilitation services that prepare eligible individuals for employment that is consistent with their strengths, abilities, and interest. VESID helps thousands of New Yorkers with disabilities become independent through education, training, and employment.
NEW YORK STATE COMMISION ON QUALITY OF CARE FOR THE MENTALLY DISABLED: The Commission on Quality of Care for the Mentally Disabled serves people with mental disabilities and their families by providing independent oversight of the quality and cost-effectiveness of services provided by all mental hygiene programs in New York State. It administers five federal formula grant programs through which it provides legal and non-legal advocacy services to persons with disabilities to assist them in obtaining the services and protections of federal and state laws.
OFFICE FOR THE AGING: It is the mission of the New York State Office for the Aging to help older New Yorkers to be as independent as possible for as long as possible through advocacy, development and delivery of cost-effective policies, programs and services which support and empower the elderly and their families, in partnership with the network of public and private organizations which serve them.
